Mateo Arciniegas Huertas 
(b. 1993, Bogotá, Colombia)
He lives and works in Amsterdam.

His work explores loss, the passage of time, migration, love, and existence. Working from the autobiographical, he uses personal narrative as a way of reflecting on collective memory, identity, Latin American culture, and belonging.

Arciniegas Huertas presented his solo exhibition Olvido pa’ Recordar at Miriam Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) in 2020. That same year, he participated in Descubrimientos PHE PHotoEspaña (Madrid, Spain). In 2021, he was a finalist for the Encontros da Imagem Emergentes Photo Prize and was shortlisted for the Helsinki Photo Festival (Helsinki, Finland). In 2022, he exhibited at the Encontros da Imagem Photo Festival (Braga, Portugal).

He received his BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute in 2023 and was selected for the Lenscratch Top 26 to Watch – Student Prize (2023). He is currently pursuing an MA in Photography and Society at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague.
